Bei der Extrusionsherstellung handelt es sich um ein Herstellungsverfahren, bei dem das Rohmaterial erhitzt und in eine Schmelze umgewandelt wird, die von Treibern herausgedrückt wird und das herausgedrückte Rohmaterial von einem Extruder gezogen und gekühlt wird.

Spritzguss ist ein Verfahren, bei dem Rohstoffe mithilfe eines Einspritzsystems in eine Form gespritzt werden. Die am häufigsten verwendeten Materialien im Spritzguss sind Kunststoffe und Kunststoffderivate. Dieses Verfahren ermöglicht jedoch auch die Produktion mit anderen Materialien wie Edelstahl, Bakelit und BMS.

Da die Formkosten beim Spritzguss deutlich höher sind als bei anderen Verfahren, ist es für Produkte mit geringen Produktionsmengen nicht geeignet.

Beim Drückverfahren wird Metallblech auf eine rotierende Form gepresst, wodurch die Formoberfläche geformt wird.

Mit diesem Verfahren lassen sich nur runde Teile herstellen, und die Maßgenauigkeit ist nicht sehr hoch. Die Teile werden in der Regel in Handarbeit hergestellt.

Grundsätzlich werden in der Fertigung zwei Arten von Pressen eingesetzt: mechanische und hydraulische Pressen. Mechanische Pressen bewegen sich mit hoher Geschwindigkeit und hoher Kraft auf den Tisch und formen das Werkstück mit dieser Kraft. Hydraulische Pressen erreichen zwar höhere Kräfte, bewegen sich aber deutlich langsamer. Dies ist ein entscheidender Faktor für das zu formende Werkstück. Die Wahl des richtigen Pressverfahrens ist entscheidend und berücksichtigt Material, Größe und Formbarkeit des Werkstücks.
